Expressing emotions/Photo Connotations

 WEAKNESS  LOVE  FEAR  DANGER  WEALTH In this particular task we were asked to represent different emotions. We focused primarily on conveying the emotions using the people and the props (like the gun and the money) rather than the backgrounds and the lighting. The images I feel conveyed the emotions the best were love, danger and wealth. I think that in love the hand holding obviously conveys an apparent intimacy and creates an easily recognizable emotion for audiences to infer.  I think that in danger the person being small creates a sense of fear and weakness and the addition of the gun helps to further convey fear and potential danger to audiences and in wealth I think that besides the money being obvious , the way he's positioned is almost cocky and nonchalant which is quite a typical attitude for a person of wealth. Film Poster

  In this particular task we were asked to create a movie poster on Photoshop using one of our images that conveyed emotions. I tried to use a good background in order to make the image stand out and convey the emotion correctly. I used the image of weakness because I felt it would be the easiest to edit and place into a movie poster. I used the background of a prison cell to open mass potential for audience interpretation of the movie for example it could be his first day, he could be being bribed etc. I used a basic colour palette to stick to the typical colour scheme for a horror/thriller film in order to make it easily recognizable for an audience. I also used the same font throughout yet with different sizes in order to stick with a theme. I then edited the main protagonist onto the bed in order to show him feeling and looking weak, however this could've easily been done at a higher standard as I left a bit of the background around his feet and legs and accidently cut off his ...

 Task 1 Film- Cruella Brief Analysis- · A lot of red and black – Used to indicate murder, hatred or evil, · Dark tones- Used to indicate death, · Repetition of fire- Used to indicate action, Who or what appears most in the poster or trailer? - Cruella as she's centered and the colour black. If there are characters in the poster and in the trailer, how are they depicted? For example, gender, race? - There are 3 women and 2 men below Cruella with one woman being black and the rest being Caucasian. One woman below Cruella appears to be about 20-30 years old, of middle class based on the way she’s dressed and the watch she’s wearing, she appears to be intelligent as she has a camera and is wearing glasses. The Caucasian woman appears to be middle aged and middle/high class based off the outfit and accessories she's wearing.
